Platform One was formed by a like-minded group of artists and craftworkers who lived and worked in Mid-Wales.

The group's original home base was at Erwood Station Craft Centre and Gallery located approximately 6 miles south of Builth Wells.  Members were able to exhibit and sell their work in one of the old railway carriages hence the name Platform One.

In later times the Gallery came under new management and the group now have their main base exhibiting and selling at the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitors Centre with their work available in the retail shop and through 4 or 5 exhibitions held at the centre each year. Platform One can be seen as a group or individuals at various events in South, Mid and West Wales and further afield.

Membership is through recommendation and/or invitation by members.

Sometimes craftworkers will be invited to exhibit as guests - this enables members to meet them, assess their work and decide whether they will make a positive addition to the group. All crafters/artist in the shop have to perform duties on a rota basis.

Please note: We never have two of the same craft within our group, if you think you have a craft that we do not cater for, by all means contact us. Currently the shop space is full. This should not stop you from applying as we do other events throughout the year and any available upcoming space in the shop will be allocated to members.
